Germany’s Oliver Lieb and USA’s Jimmy Van M have come together as The Audible Suspects to launch “Collaborations”, a new creative platform for Bedrock in 2012.

Many years ago Jimmy was among the first people to bring Oliver to the USA to play and was the first to arrange a tour for him to perform live and now the time is right for The Audible Suspects to be born.

“After my break from producing, I was slowly getting back to working again and one of the first steps was to care about my online presence, Facebook etc. I added Jimmy, making contact again and soon we talked about working together on some projects. and quickly had the idea of doing a compilation. Like my monthly podcasts, I wanted to gather together new, interesting music from well-known and more underground or undiscovered people and focus on the techy side of things, which actually is my main playground. So, our collaboration is based on grooves and interesting sounds, as well as melodies, that don’t just aim for big commercial success but more for some exciting trippy development of audible space.” – Oliver Lieb

Frankfurt based DJ & producer Oliver Lieb has been in the premier league of electronic producers since the early 90’s and always keeps surprising and amazing people with his extraordinary sounds and diversity of styles. He views music as an endless horizon of expressing himself and refuses to be pigeonholed in one specific genre, an attitude well suited to the Bedrock ethos. The mighty, soaring, “Parallax”, was a highlight on John Digweed’s “Structures Two” album, and the exceptional “Epsilon Eridani EP” (Bed99) followed last summer. So it is fitting that both an unreleased Reprise and Italian producer Davide Cali’s remix open and set the stage for this collaborative musical adventure.

From the outset the selected music emulates a night out at a club with a top quality underground soundtrack, digging deep and blending subtle sparseness with hypnotic drive, teasing and building anticipation and excitement with ease. Jimmy Van M exhibits his superb remix skills reworking “Origins” by German techno producer Ray Kajioka, which flows seamlessly into BPitch Control’s rising star Thomas Muller’s “One Hit One Night” and on into Get Physical’s Pele and Findling. Oliver and Jimmy continue to join the dots between the most exciting, talented, new producers and remixers as they feature the wildly creative Max Cooper, Andreas Mügge (in his D.Diggler guise), Daso Franke and the excitingly experimental Lanny May.

“Flow is very important. I connected with Oliver on this right from the beginning when listening to his LSG ‘Vol. 2’ and LSG ‘Into Deep’ albums. Over the years we’ve become friends and I’ve always hoped for an opportunity to work together. So, The Audible Suspects project is very exciting for me. When getting the music together for this compilation we quickly realized where it was going and took the direction of strong yet still simple tracks. We focused considerably on the sound quality of each track and the final mix mastering which you can tell by turning it up loud!” – Jimmy Van M

Over the last decade and a half few individuals could claim the type behind-the-scenes influence on American dance culture as Jimmy Van M. His tireless efforts can be credited with having helped advance electronic dance music throughout the North America, opening avenues for artistic expression in dance-clubs that did not previously exist before him and his very unique efforts. When it comes to atmosphere, vibe and drive there are very few DJs that can stand alongside Jimmy Van M.

The mix builds in intensity with San Francisco duo SF/FM blurring the lines between the obscure and the straight forward, with their love of big room psychedelia, slipping effortlessly upwards with Traum’s Ryan Davis and Ireland’s Phil Kieran (who is later joined by Green Velvet for an encore performance). Sweden’s hugely talented techno DJ and producer Joel Mull shows off his star potential, as does the mysterious Digital Mess, before the unique sounds of Munich’s Tobias Felbermayr spiral into the mix finale of “Helios” by Oliver Lieb.

This is a mix that exhibits the best underground dancefloor attitude without sacrificing the electronic weirdness that sometimes gets lost in the pursuit of big-name tunes. There is a sense of musical maturity to the mix without it lacking in energetic charm. It’s a mix that is born out of desire to discover, excite and educate, and attitude that comes as the result of many years of waiting and searching for, that next inspirational track.

The buzz around John Digweed and Nick Muir’s 30 Northeast was intense last summer when it was released on Bedrock. In its original form it was a spine-tingling, fizzing, spiralling, big-room monster that caused a commotion everywhere, a hard act to follow? Most certainly! But John Digweed’s impeccable A&R skills have not let us down with his selection of the acclaimed rising star of French techno, Julian Jeweil, to remix this beast.

The Marseille born DJ/Producer has been setting the world alight with his productions on Richie Hawtin’s Plus8 label (“Baboo” and “Hermanos”) and Sven Vath’s Cocoon (his “Soho” track reached No.1 in the Beatport techno chart), so its no wonder that he has delivered two stunning techno interpretations that are powerful, subtle and euphoric in perfect balance. Julian Jeweil’s towering talent, on display here, most definitely mark him out as someone to keep on your radar throughout 2012!

For fact finders, “30 Northeast” refers to the street address of Vagabond in Miami, USA. The club that so effectively captured the energy of a John Digweed DJ set that it became his first ever commercially available live DJ mix. “John Digweed Live at the Vagabond”, recorded at the 9th Annual Bedrock/Creations Party at Vagabond Miami 27th March 2010, was included on the “Structures’” bonus DVD as yet another musical milestone for the label. Richie G is a prodigiously talented eighteen-year-old electronic music producer and DJ from Montreal, Canada, who you should already have on your music radar having released his debut, self-produced, “Baum” EP on Haçienda Records last year and his previous remixes for Traum and, not forgetting, Luis Junior’s “BG” (Bed91) when he was only fifteen!

He has received great support from within the Montreal scene and from this springboard has also pricked up the ears of major names such as John Digweed, Sasha, James Zabiela and Hernan Cattaneo (who along with Jesper Dahlback also remixed “Vorbendacht” from the “Baum” EP).

“Eterna” and “But Her Fly” display all the hallmarks of the supremely sumptuous techno-edged electronic music that Richie G produces. 2010 saw Vlad participating in the Red Bull Music Academy and releasing music on Supernature and Darkroom Dubs. He also released his debut material under his experimental alias SIT, alongside Cristi Cons and in 2011 the pair launched their Amphia imprint. Vlad Caia’s double header for All Inn Black finds him combining his love of experimental soundscapes and loose percussive rhythms on title track “Routed,” together with with a nod to the early days of house music where drum-machine and sampler ruled the day, on “MoreThenYouself.”

Hi Serge, thanks that you approved my invitation to the radio show. With a few questions I should like to introduce yourself to the radio  listeners. Your artist name is Sergethegun.  Tell me, why do you think you are a gun? What does your name mean?

-It hasn’t got a special meaning, actually it comes from my surname.

-Oh I never thought, that the answer could be so simply. J If somebody, who asks about you, what could you to tell to him about yourself?

-”I need a gun ’cause all i do is dance” (c)

- Well, sometimes people are wondering to make a headshot. J  What kind of music do you keen on? When and how have you met electronic music?

-I love many types of music such as “indie rock”, “industrial”, “house” and “disco”. My first connection with the music has started about 10 years ago when I was playing bass guitar in various local post-punk bands. During this period obviously my music skill had been developing, and little by little I started to be interested in electronic music. Firstly it was the trip-hop, synth pop, industrial (Throbbing Gristle and Coil), and then the house music.

-What is the situation about your producer workings?

-Earlier I’ve created electronic music and I participated in a few project, but now I don’t have enough time for it. The music created by myself was never made for sale, (as I prefer independent music) but if I decided to resume creating music again, it would be the same.

Well, in my opinion our ears would be overgrown, if everybody created music only for business without any passion …

Tell me something  about your party culture. Do you like it or how do you think it could be better?

-Yes, it’s cool and like it. The only thing I could suggest promoting the deep-house music more because it is not that widespread here as I’d like it to be.

-I can see a good opportunity in the air! J Can you tell me any funny or a strange story about your Country?

-Unfortunately the funniest and strangest stories are related to our president.

-Well I could tell some stories about this topic as well L What is your  funniest and the most remarkable adventure in the night?

-My most remarkable adventure in the night took place when I being a 16-years old teenager, hitchhiked to St. Petersburg, which is about 1600km from my home city. So on the 2nd night of my travel I found myself at the highway section which went near some dense wild forest. The traffic died out and I had nothing to do, I must spend the night in that forest. Those were inexpressible feelings which I remember up to now.  It was the most great party in my life. J

-It would be whopping. A few years ago we were planning a wild camping night with my friends in the forest with mines and bears, but finally we changed our mind and we slept in a wreckyard.  J Anything about the girls?

-I’m married with a beautiful woman…and that’s all.

-My deepest congratulation! Tell me, what are your plans for the future?

-Life is very unpredictable thing. I’m trying not to make any plans so it’s hard to forecast what I will do tomorrow.

I have spent the last 8 years working along side DJ Sasha and Charlie May, recording and mixing all of Sasha’s work since 2003. This includes the ground breaking Involver and Involver 2 albums.

My most recent work has been remixes with Sasha for the Doves – “Jet stream”, Damian Lazarus – “Spinning”, Little Boots – “Earthquake”, and most recently my remix of Hybrid – “Can you hear me now” and “Home coming“. The new track from Charlie May and myself.

I also did a lot of remix and production work with Bill Hamel. We have done remixes together for Madonna, Brittany Spears, New Order and Seal, which we were both nominated for a Grammy in 2004 (best remix) for the track “Get together”.

I am just finishing up a new solo album project that I have been working on over the course of the last 12 months.

History

He started his musical career way back in 1986, when (with fellow musical partner John Sutton), Evolution was first formed. Their first single “Came out of nowhere” was released on their early record label Positive Vinyl. They called on the services of a young DJ, who was starting to make a name for him self, to remix the track. His name was Sasha, and it was his first ever venture in to the recording world. As you might have guessed, it was the start of a great friendship.

Discography 1990 to 2003

As one half Evolution, he had built up quite a reputation, over the year’s. With hit singles such as “Love is calling”, “Phoenix”, and the massive, “Walking on Fire” of 2003.

Barry (and his past production partner John Sutton) had also been responsible for some great remixes over the past 10 years. These would include, BT “Quark” & “Dreaming”, Bedrock “Heaven Scent”, Breeder “Tyrantanic” to name but a few.

Barry has always been very much involved in every aspect of the music industry. From engineering, and co-producing nearly all the track released on Fluid, to putting out quite a few of the classics tracks with which Fluid had become renowned for. Tracks such as Arrakis “Aira Force”, Escape “Cascade”, JB “Lazy Dayz”, and of course, the infamous, Evolution “Phoenix”, which was featured on the very first Sasha and Digweed “Northern Exposure Album.  With numerous gigs under his belt, like Dance Valley (Holland 2001) to Love Parade (Berlin 1999) to Renaissance (Ibiza 2000) to Synergy (Cape Town 2002), he has built up a formidable reputation as a DJ and Live act (Evolution).

Velten Doering aka Dirty Doering was born in Leipzig in 1978, but grew up in the Black Forest in southern Germany. He started DJing professionally at the age of 19, and soon followed his career to Berlin. He rose quickly as a part of the club and underground scene in Berlin, and soon the most influential locations such as „BAR25“ (resident).He created the label „Rauschenbach Music“ under which he producedes his own releases.

Desolat’s happy to present the third edition of our yearly Christmas sampler, and probably the best so far: a bumper tribute to a year of fine music. And with this many goodies included, you won’t need to look under the tree for anything else.

Some serious contenders are on board for this one, from label co-owner Martin Buttrich who teams up with Davide Squillace on a power session of polished grooves; to the promising pairing of up & coming London DJ and producer Hector with FCommunications’ Alexkid on a slice of finely observed and bittersweet house.

Rising talent Anthea, also makes an appearance here: offering soul-drenched vocal shards on a heart-breaking house tune by versatile Argentinian Guti, replete with addictive bassline. Reboot steps up with the sprawling and catchy 14 minute analogue jam that’s sure to slay dancefloors – and not only over the silly season. Two tracks are aimed especially at those who like to throw shapes: straight outta NYC following remarkable releases and remixes on Shelter’s Restricted and Un-Restricted Access, Yoruba or Simple Sound, Filsonik comes correct on a shimmying jam with shades of Chicago house; while Funk E steps out of the shadows with an effervescent cut that plays with hip house and electro atmospheres. Meanwhile Danny Ocean returns after “Lights In My Dark World” with a thoroughly contemporary and elegant take on some of those sounds that made up the heyday of 90S techno.

As a Beatport exclusive you’ll find a special bonus: Livio & Roby “Purplemix”, a continuous mix of X-Sampler tracks – edited, took apart, re-built and inimitably mixed by our favourite Romanian duo.

These private films redefined the concept of reality shows : what we  see is the reality itself. There are no scenery, no actors, and no directors – this is real life, in 24 frames per second.

Past tense does not exist in these films: we can re-live the elegant  thirties, the rotund slogans of the processions organised by the state in the fifties, the holidays of “goulash-communism” with camp chairs and Wartburgs, the wild gigs, the romantic seaside-walks. We visit countries that exist only in our memories.

Travel back to the beginning of the year 2000 when a young Laurence Gavril was a rapper by the name of Funkmaster General performing in a hip hop group named ‘The Dream Team’. Then fast forward to 2002 and the Funkmaster General had already immersed himself in the art of the vinyl format soon after discovering the world of underground dance music. By 2003 after an inspiring journey to the Isle of Ibiza, he was fully aware of which path his music career would take. Gone were the rap tones Funkmaster General was well known for and in was his new found desire of house, minimal and techno. Funkmaster General was over. Funk E was born.
From 2003 to 2008 residencies in the most respected clubs in his native Romania (Kristal, Studio Martin, Kudos Beach, Avi Cola, Krypton, Gotic, Sidney, The Spot, Space, Cuando, XS, La Ferma, Propaganda, Oscar, La Ferma) were beginning to take shape.  People were soon taking notice of Funk E and again after travelling to Ibiza each season, in 2008 he managed to secure a residency at the musically most forward thinking party on the island, the open air event called The Zoo Project. Playing every Saturday and Wednesday gave Funk E the chance to get his sound known to a truly International crowd whilst gaining himself a reputation for his fierce, groovy energetic beats

Things are pretty simple when it comes to music for Funk E, quite simply he loves what he does and people are the ones who inspire him the most. Currently with the experience he has gained, the raw passion he has for music and the touching high peaks he has already given to many, Funk E is now stepping up with production on All Inn, Desolat X, Tabat Records and the hotly anticipated Channel Zoo.

Deepcity Podcast is the successor of the Snowbhaus Radio Show, since from September of 2010, the Snobhaus Crew who gave it’s name to the whole program, continues to play as DeepCity. The crew is composed of the four DJ-s : Attic Ears, If-ican, Dennis D, J-Smith, who are also the presenters of the DeepCity Podcast, and are well known in the South-Alföld region, especially Szeged, where they were the former residents of the Deep In SZTEage series, and also brought the first foreign DJ to the Jate Progression night, Izhevski with whom they brought down the house in Jate Club and created one of the best nights in the life of the party series. Other performances include parties in the U26 Clubshop and Dokkoló in Budapest, Liberté in Kecskemét by favour of the Jóképű Klub, 2011 SZIN in Szeged, Club Babylon and Club222 in Békéscsaba.

Laslie Grand started mixing at the end of 2004. He has already attended some DJ competitions. He was one of the competitors in the semi final of Hangfoglalás which was organised in Budapest in 2008. Later he won an other competition in Club Ibiza, Tatabánya. Since then he has had a lot of parties in Clubs of Tatabánya and at the neighbouring towns with much success. He had an own radio show in mix8tv and later in GMDC.FM named Villanyóra. His music style is very diverse. At the beginning of his carreer he played Trance, French Electro and even Breakbeat. Nowadays he plays mostly Tech House, Techno and Progressive tracks in his dj sets, but sometimes he plays house music with more vocals, if the audience needs it. In his new radio show, Composite, compared to his earlier radio show, Villanyóra, Laslie moves on to deeper line but he still prefers tech house. From time to time he’ll still play techno and progressive, to get more ‘composite’ mixes.

Audio Bliss project (2006) which was at first only an evening event, and is from September 2007 on also a radio show hosted by Daesmith, Cave Sedem and Skipjack broadcasting on several internet radio stations.

From April 2010 the Audio Bliss Radio Show is hosted by Nugen.fm, a brand new station strictly focusing on the highest quality electronic music. He was born on the 6th of January 1980 in Budapest, then he moved to the countryside with his family at the age of ten. His father’s love of music also infected him in his early years. During the primary school years he learnt playing on synthesizer. Then in the age of 15 he got his first computer, but in the beginning he only played onto that, but later he discovered the other possibilities of the computer. In the years about 1996/1997 between the walls of the legendary discotheque Flört, he got to know the music which was embedded his memory forever (Quench-Dreams). He wrote his first musics in the way of Fast Tracker, which wasn’t an acceptable quality at the time. Spending a lot of years with playing music and working hard, his work slowly but surely bore its fruit. By the time he felt himself to be ready to show his works to other people, 5 years has passed. In 2000 he wrote the song “Across the sahara”, wich has also played by Mo Shic and later has been released by Sauna Recordings. Getting enthusiastic on this success he sent more and more tracks to the Israelian artist, therefore in december 2001 Mo Shic asked him to make an exclusive music, what Mo Shic announced on his cd “DJ Mag World Series – Mixed by Mo Shic” in England.

After this publishments, several positive feedbacks, the love and appreciation of the people made him to go further on this way. He made a remix to the Hungarian CHI Recordings, and a common music with Andro, which got the title “She is my destiny” and became the last track of the cd “Progressive Sounds of Budapest – Mixed by Kühl & Monkz”. Later he worked together with Andro, which became the track “Liquid State & Solid State” and announced by the Italian Screen Recordings. In 2005 three of his own bakelites came out the titles of “Alterna”, “Fields”, and “Circular”. In the meantime he appeared on several compilation albums such as “Sog Files”, “Inception”, “Budapest Parade 2003”, “Budapest Parade 2004” and on mix albums of some world famous djs like: Hernan Cattaneo, Andrew K, DJ 19 and Tomas Haverlik.

He has started his dj career in 2003. During his only one and a half year-long career he already has played in whole Hungary. He has played many times on abroad in the Emirates, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, and they invite Snake back time to time. In 2005 at the voting of the Partycom Evote, ‘Snake Sedrick & Khans – Circular’ won the ‘track of the year’ title. In the meantime he was continuously making new tracks and remixes, and with his Slovakian friend, Peter, they established the Tilth Music digital label, where he plays an important role as A&R. For the ask of the American Proton Radio, Andro, Yvel & Tristan and Snake Sedrick has started their monthly 4 hour-show, which got the title Indigo.

Between 2005 and 2007 he worked for Tilth Music mostly, and he released 22 tracks on it. The radio program consists of two distinct parts:

• First part (60 minutes): In the first part performs a musical session exclusively of news, including a lot of promotional material, music available for us before many other radio programs. All new products are mixed in a linear fashion and such mixes are not too long to present all issues properly, giving all information about the artists, labels, release, etc.

It is done in strict tempo with a steady progression from 124 to 126 bpm, depending on the original bpm of the music included. In this mix before recording vocals, tries to emulate a night in a club, which starts with deep and smarter sounds to keep progressing to end with more energy and dance sounds.

• Part Two (60 minutes): Called “Focus on”. As its name says, it is ‘focused on’ labels. It is directed toward our view essential in underground culture. Always under this formula, we include mixes of the most internationally renowned artists.

Thanks to our continuous contact with promoters, labels, etc.. We personalize the mixes with the greetings of the artists recorded by telephone, or by themselves at their studio. Additionally, the program also included jingles.

Musical career started with a famous Kecel Sasha party was a big impression, it was first started to buy vinyl albums. You helped Zest, Djuri and Rudee, who came together to buy discs.

In late 2003, is the first time behind a desk in a friend’s birthday party of Kecel. At the beginning of the trance sound tie up the attention. More and more are invited to the party which wins the series of public love and acceptance.

Musical career of the first important stage of the 1993-94 year was when he was introduced to the world of Club Korona Kecel, which later on a great influence on his development. At the beginning of the epic, trance and house styles found himself, but you still listening level.

In 2002-2003 year brought him the breakthrough, what he thanks to Djuri, Zest and Nádasdi.

Wicked Moments was founded by Grandy and Derek in October 2008. The
show is on air at Nugen FM since July 2009 on Fridays from 4 to 6 pm.
Prekop, a regular guest joined in early 2010 and D22 followed him at
April 2011. Since then four DJs play in weekly rotation. The show is
probably the most experimental of the radio’s programmes, with a wide
selection of genres of electronic music giving the audience a lot more
than known and current hits on Friday afternoons. The first hour is
for resident mixes and the second is usually for guest DJs.

Ginel met Adrian in 2006 and 4 years later they have started a collaboration and so was born the new project Phrasis Veteris.
They find inspiration in everything around them like nature, human behavior or in genres like house, minimal, breakbeat or jazz, even in classical music. Their electronic influences were outlined by Rick Wade, Pete Moss, Jay Tripwire, Raresh, Rhadoo and many more.
Music is their passion and they are entirely dedicated to it.

Interface was born in Zalaegerszeg on 16 July 1985, his name is Szanati Ferenc.
He was interested in music from the very beginning of his life.
He’s adored the electronic music since he was twelve years old, and collecting music was his hobby, spare no effort and money.
At the beginning, he recorded music videos from the television, than he spent all his pocket money on music CDs.

The reason why he started to buy CDs was the music style: Trance, but a few years later he owned almost every album of the Globalunderground, and a lot other.
He was fascinated by the sounds, feelings and overtones transmitted by the music. He toke interest in the activity of the DJs, and that was the period, when he decided, he wants to be a DJ too.
He bought his first CDs in 2003. The atmosphere of the shop, the view of the CDs and the experience made him travel a lot between Zalaegerszeg and Veszprém and Budapest.

He liked Bakelite soo much, he decided he wouldn’t work with any other materials but with Bakelite as a DJ, because for him, the quality is the most important thing.
He obtained two „instruments” and a mixer as soon as he could, and the practice session began.

Nobody have ever taught him mixing, he learnt it all alone.

By the time he felt that his CD collection and knowledge is enough to show what he knows, he started to perform in smaller places, and where he had the opportunity.
He was trying to get his mixes to more and more places, and to those people, who are competent. The critics and opinions were positive, which gave him momentum to go on.
The first big appreciation was in 2007, when he handed in his application for a DJ competition called Justmusic.Fm DJ Championship 2007, which was organized for the first time, and what he won, ahead of other more experienced and practiced DJs than him. Thanks to this competition, he became well known as Interface, with his great sets and qualitative music.

For him, the music transmits feelings and atmosphere, and it means the freedom of the soul. He thinks it is one of the most polished form of self-expression, and through it, he discloses his inner soul to the audience.
At the beginning it was just a hobby, but now it’s rather a passion and a lifestyle.

His music taste always improved in manners, but the House has been his favorite from the very beginning.
Initially, he represented the Progressive House style as a DJ, getting to the Deep House. His style was always deep, sentimental and clear.
In 2008 he joined the DIP artist community, where he contributes to the edification of his environment with his musician activity.
His target is to develop the electric music and culture life in Zalaegerszeg, his home town.

The program cycle, UrbanCafé was started at the end of 2008, and it parades those artists (DJs, VJs, designers…) who couldn’t be heard and seen yet in public.
He sais, he doesn’t really like common ways, and that’s why he set up something new. The UrbanCafé is not a business type program, but a passionate and emotional one, because the most beautiful thing is what you like disinterestedly.
